Ah September.
A time to dream of Spring cleans, feel the warmer air on our face and embrace the smell of Summer as it creeps around the corner.
It’s also a good time to clear up the garden, remove old or dead trees, replant with some fresh new natives or prune a few leaves or limbs (that’s tree branches not human limbs – we’ll wait until our Halloween enews for that).
In honour of Spring Clearing Season, we’re offering $100 off all tree removal and pruning jobs in September (carried out this or next month) – email us at info@bohmerstreecare.com.au to enquire/book. (Limited availability.)
WORLD TREE DAY 2016 – In assoc with Planet Ark
Did you spot us at our local #WTD16 celebrations recently?
Bohmer climbed down from his home amongst the treetops and dressed up in a locally crafted, custom made ‘Woodnutt The Tree Whisperer’ costume for a range of educational, fun and interactive activities at local schools and events.
We carefully selected a range of young native trees from Helensburgh’s superb Sunrise Nursery to plant at school gardens as part of Bohmer’s popular ‘Tree Talk’, and gave away a few to excited students to take home.
We also took a trip – complete with our famous state of the art, enviro-friendly chipper ‘The Enterprise’ – to Bulli’s Foragers Markets, to say hi to local tree lovers and share our passion for the importance of tree care in the Illawarra environment. (Did you know Tree Removal is the absolute last resort for us and that we don’t lop trees? We’d much rather keep them alive and healthy – contact us if you need help with this.)
Bohmer’s ‘Rope Challenge’ proved popular again (particularly with the dads, wandering aimlessly amongst the clothes stalls), as were the beautiful natives we handed out to honour World Tree Day 2016.
The Illawarra Mercury and i98fm even stopped by our exclusive events to take some pics and get stuck into some of the activities themselves – check out our facebook page for more.
Would you like Bohmer to visit your school, event or workplace for a Tree Talk, Tour or Activity?
Email us at info@bohmerstreecare.com.au to find out more. (Educational activities are curriculum-based.)
Awards Galore
There we were, in all our green glory all suited up for a rare night out recently at the Local Business Awards, with not a tree in sight.
We’re possibly still on a high from taking home the ‘WINNER’ gong last year in the Trades & Services Category and this year we were honoured to have been named as a Finalist and pass on the Winner status glory with some of the other many fine services and local businesses all across the Illawarra. Well done to all who won in their respective categories.
Our Director Natasha Woodnutt was also acknowledged for her ongoing commitment to the Bohmer’s growing business in the recent 2016 Illawarra Women in Business Awards. She was called up on stage in front of a room full of inspirational and hardworking women to be handed her framed Finalist status. Well done to Natasha and all the other Illawarra Women in Business for their outstanding achievements, every single day. (Seriously, where do these women/mums find the energy?)
We are delighted to have been named as a finalist in the IMB Illawarra Business Awards 2016 and the Government’s NSW SafeWork Awards (BIG deal). We’d be keeping our fingers and toes crossed to win, however in our line of work it’s probably not a good idea so hopefully you can help us.
Of course we know it’s much more than luck to have got this far, so thank you to our supportive customers, industry and community plus hardworking team going to all sorts of heights (in all sorts of weather) to take us there.
We work hard to ensure our high levels of professional, safe and reliable standards are continuously adhered to, so it’s fantastic to have these recognised at all levels, including community, business, industry and government.
Til next time,
The Bohmer’s Tree Care Team
